Hollywood-style film studio

Award-winning writer and director announced that he hopes to have the project up and running within the next month.

Steven Knight, the man behind Birmingham-based TV phenomenon Peaky Blinders, says that he hopes plans for a new film studio in the city will ‘cross the line’ within the next month.

Knight has been promoting the idea of a state-of-the-art film studio in the city for years now, recently talking about how it could compliment the ‘creative revolution’ that he feels is sweeping across the region.

Earlier this year he revealed his hopes for a venue which would house six sound studios, as well as post-production facilities, bars and restaurants.

And, speaking at today’s (Wednesday) annual GBSLEP Conference, the award-winning writer and director announced that he hopes to have the project up and running within the next month.

“We’re entering a golden age in film and television production,” he said.
